I want to welcome you to the Bob Chambers Online site and tell you a little about myself.
I was an Aerospace Engineer and program manager for a number of years. I also have an MBA from Pepperdine University. In the corporate world I did marketing, customer interface and training, management… basically I was responsible for bidding and getting the job, getting it designed, produced and shipped. My corporate lifetime sales were nearly $500,000,000.
But even while working the traditional “9 to 5” job I was also building my own business part time. I started well before the Internet… we called it direct marketing… where you create a product, then write a sales letter and either mail it to potential customers or place an ad in a magazine or newspaper. WOW, can you imagine the risk doing that? The rule of thumb in direct marketing was that one half of all your sales would come to you in the first 30 days! Today people get upset if it takes 30 minutes to get sales.
In my own business I’ve created books, audios, videos, reports… just about anything that can be used to teach and be sold to someone. Plus I’ve given workshops and seminars as well as teleconferences and webinars. Actually my first profitable product was a series of workshops that I gave in local community colleges. I even wrote the book for the course using my first MacPlus Computer.
I’ve been online since 1997 when I started the first ever “DVEreview” newsletter. That stands for Digital Video Editing review. At the time I had the biggest forum online for the subject. In 2002 I created my first screen capture video using software that would eventually be known as Captivate. By the middle of 2003 I had moved to Camtasia and was teaching others how to use it with my “Multimedia Profits Revealed” training series.
