My sincere thanks for the helpful info above, being of a certain age I'd never have looked at the micro-writing on the three discs to discover that I needed to use Disc 3 to install Elements 10 onto my iMac with OS 10.6.8.

Keep doing what you're doing, All my best wishes

Hey Bob,

Good to c u got all ur ducks in a row! Awesome, buddy! Say, I thought that the training videos u sent me were great, I gleaned a bunch from it and have started full speed on my own videos.

While I am not a MBA holder I have gone to college and I do a degree in Computer & Information Sciences but as I told u my disability makes it very hard for me to think "stright" as most people do, it takes me so much time, but sometimes that's a good thing.

These sites I've listed are what I've had on the back burner while trying to put together some videos for them; I would listen to any advice u'd care to lend me...
I will use any tool u recomend, u really helped this boy out and I will NOT forget it!

I'm going to check this guys club out to see if it too could offer help.

Thanks Bob...
Please stay in touch!

My earlier video sales letters have all been using images with little text. Several of them got completed and never were used for the product they were created for. Those were for my partner's launches. We probably will be using new ones for our future launches. One I've done and is up is at http://wishlistmemberpro.com. I had forgotten what I did with it but was watching it yesterday and was impressed with my work (I do like what I do :). This is based on the techniques of Andy Jenkins.

Since then I've focused more on the Ryan Deiss approach of video sales letters... using text on PowerPoint type slides. According to the tests there is a slight advantage to using text on the slides than using less text and more images. Of course, you need to test your market since some markets do not respond well to videos.

My partner agrees with you... he wants to have the text sales letter on the page as well as the video. I for one actually do better reading than watching (bad comment for the "the multimedia guy" to make). One of the reasons Ryan Deiss uses his video plus delayed buy button is that people don't relate the video as being part of the sale process. And if your video has good content they will get involved with what you are offering without so much resistance. However, the script that delays the buy button could easily also add the entire sales letter.

And yes, video has to have sound. The probable reason why a video will not have sound is that the person making it has English as a second language and is hard to understand. But one of the people I follow said no matter how bad you sound... if you have good content people will listen. And you can also add the text below the video in case people have trouble understanding. And with Camtasia you can add the text within the video too.

I will. I've been making a video sales letter (about 20 minutes long) before I actually make the product. Now I need to create the product and post that video. When I do I'll post my experiences.

I like having my picture show up on the web. It helps people relate with you as a real human being. Plus people actually recognize you when you sell something or even when you go to a seminar. So yes, I believe it's worth the few minutes it takes to put your picture on gavatar.com. And since I see your picture you must agree with me.

And that's another reason to add your audios on websites as well as videos... people what to know who they are dealing with... social media has changed the game. I believe the video is the most powerful. Today there are people teaching how to make full motion feature videos to put online. I've been making full motion videos since 1992 and think that's the hardest thing to do. But I believe making short videos with either the Flip or Kodac Zi8 is very valuable. And as I write this I realize I still have not done any myself even though I have both of those simple point and click cameras. I gotta do that...

Here's a story from my days in the corporate world. Our company had some telephone operators (that probably dates me :). They talked to company people all the time on the phone. But they rarely saw the people they talked to. Those operators always wanted to know what the people they talked to looked like. So when we went to a restrurant with others and the operators saw me eating lunch with others... as soon as I would get back to work they would call and ask who I was with... yes, they already knew what I looked like since I went out of my way to meet them.

And your customers are just like that. Put a smiple video of you on YouTube and link it to your sites. It could make a big difference. I know I'll be doing that... as soon as I get some time :)

I agree with you. Microsoft has assumed the position of the big 900 pound ape and expect us to upgrade forever. So no need to offer a discount. No customer loyality discount! I've been using Word since 1986 when I added it to my MacPlus computer. So I was truly shocked to find there was no discount. When I upgraded I went to Amazon where I got a small discount at least.

Actually I upgraded because of what I believed was added by Microsoft in their PowerPoint software. And before that I went to 2007 when my partner started sending lots of .docx material. Only software that would open .docx was Open Office... Word 2003 didn't work. I'm still looking for functions that were in 2003 that are now some other place in 2010 (and 2007).

>Microsoft feels their customers will upgrade no matter what so they don’t have to be nice to us.

That doesn't seem right. Where is their competition? Have you tried out OpenOffice?

Many companies start off giving you discounts or sometimes free products and then you get use to using the products --- and then the price goes up or they start to charging for something that use to be free. Sometimes there are others with similar products and you have a choice to move on, but then sometimes you feel stuck.

I have Microsoft Word 2007 and don't know yet if I want to upgrade to 2010. I wasn't happy with the move I made from Microsoft Word 2003 to 2007. I like 2003 better and I thought the cost to upgrade was too high.
